Guest Reservation Guidelines - Updated May 31, 2022 - Mary’s Place by the Sea welcomes women diagnosed with any type of cancer, who are in active treatment or up to two years post-treatment - Mary’s Place by the Sea welcomes women diagnosed with any type of cancer, who choose not to be treated, up to two years post-diagnosis. - Mary’s Place by the Sea is currently accepting reservations for day and overnight retreats. Overnight retreats include a two-night stay. - Guests who are currently scheduled and need to cancel due to medical reasons may reschedule even if they are no longer within the guidelines. - Guests who remain in the guidelines, may return one time per year for an overnight retreat based on availability, up to 3 maximum retreats total. - Guests who remain in the guidelines, may return for a day visit based on availability, for up to 4 times per year. - Guests of Mary’s Place by the Sea who require medical assistance on a daily basis, may bring one female Caregiver for their retreat. Please note: Mary’s Place by the Sea has limited space and can accommodate only one Caregiver per retreat. - Guests of Mary’s Place by the Sea are not permitted to bring anyone to their retreat, i.e. spouse, friend, family member, etc. apart from a female Caregiver if medically necessary. - Mary’s Place by the Sea reserves the right to deny accommodations to anyone deemed not suitable for a group environment in accordance with the applicable law. Virtual Guest Guidelines - Mary’s Place by the Sea Virtual Program welcomes women diagnosed with any type of cancer, who are in active treatment or up to ten years post-treatment. - Virtual guests must pre-register for virtual sessions by emailing virtualguest@marysplacebythesea.org. - As a gentle reminder, please join the classes in a timely manner as the host may not be able to admit you once the class is underway, as all of our sessions are held live and not pre-recorded. - In an effort to protect the privacy of all Mary’s Place by the Sea virtual guests, please do not forward Zoom links to anyone. Please direct anyone interested in a Zoom session to virtualguest@marysplacebythesea.org to register.We kindly ask that participants only use the chat feature to discuss class-related topics. - Please remember that each attendee is at a different phase of their cancer treatment. - Please be kind to one another and help us maintain a safe and welcoming environment during each virtual session. - Mary’s Place by the Sea reserves the right to deny access to anyone deemed not suitable for a virtual group session in accordance with applicable law. Guest Conduct Policy - Mary’s Place by the Sea is committed to providing a safe, violence-free, disruption-free experience for all guests. Mary’s Place by the Sea strictly prohibits employees, visitors, contractors or anyone else on Mary’s Place by the Sea premises or engaging in a Mary’s Place by the Sea-related activity from behaving in a violent, threatening or inappropriate manner. Mary’s Place by the Sea reserves the right to remove any guests from its premises, any retreat session, class, or any other service provided by Mary’s Place by the Sea if it determines, in its sole discretion, a guest has violated this Policy. Examples of violent, threatening or inappropriate conduct includes, but are not limited to, the following: - Threats of any kind; - Threatening, physical or aggressive violent behavior, such as intimidation of or attempts to instill fear in another individual. - Other behaviors that suggest propensity toward violence including belligerent speech, excessive arguing or cursing, sabotage, veiled threats of physical harm or a demonstrated pattern of refusal to follow Mary’s Place by the Sea’s policies and procedures. - Emotional, Verbal and/or psychological abuse or exhibiting behavior that is potentially a danger to themselves or others. - Defacing or destroying Mary’s Place by the Sea’s property or another’s property. - Harassing or threatening statements, phone calls, letters or emails. - Surveillance or stalking. Guests who believe threats, acts of violence or a potentially violent or inappropriate situation exists or may occur should immediately report it to Mary’s Place by the Sea management.
What to expect at a retreat
Visiting for an Overnight Retreat - Overnight retreats include a 2-day, 2-night stay - Overnight retreats are offered Tuesday morning to Thursday morning OR Friday morning to Sunday morning - Arrival time is 9:30am on the first day of the retreat. Departure/Check Out time is at or before 9:00am on the final day of the retreat - Breakfast and lunch will be provided. All meals are plant-based (no meat, fish, eggs or dairy) and prepared by our in-house chef. - We can accommodate dietary restrictions and food allergies. We cannot accommodate food preferences. - Dinner is not provided. There are many local restaurants that we can recommend for you, or you may order takeout. - If you would like to bring dinner or snacks with you, please note we do not have a commercial kitchen, so all food must be cooked/prepared in advance and you will not be able to cook or reheat a meal. - You will have your own bedroom with a private bathroom during your stay. Your room will be supplied with bed linens and bath towels. Please bring your own toiletries, as they are not provided. Visiting for a Day Retreat - Day retreats are offered on Thursdays only - Arrival time is 10:00am. Departure time is approximately 3:00pm but subject to change based on each guest’s individual schedule of services. - You will be able to participate in approximately 2-3 services - Lunch is provided. All meals are plant-based (no meat, fish, eggs or dairy) and prepared by our in-house chef. - We can accommodate dietary restrictions and food allergies. We cannot accommodate food preferences. Traveling to Mary’s Place by the Sea - Our address is 22 Main Avenue, Ocean Grove, NJ 07756 - If you are traveling by car: street parking is available and free of charge. We do not have a dedicated parking lot. Parking can be challenging during the summer or on a nice day; please be patient and allow yourself plenty of time. - If you are traveling by train: Asbury Park train station is located just outside of town. Please take a taxi or rideshare service from the train station to Mary’s Place by the Sea. We are unable to provide transportation. Information on Your Schedule of Services - When you fill out a Reservation Inquiry form, you can indicate what services you are interested in participating in while visiting Mary’s Place by the Sea. To view descriptions of these services, please visit https://marysplacebythesea.org/services. - Services are complimentary, and are provided by licensed practitioners. We build guest schedules based on the availability of practitioners. - Your schedule will include a combination of group and individual services. We will share your schedule with you upon arrival. - We do our best to provide the services you are interested in, but cannot guarantee any service. - If you are interested in an Oncology Massage or Reflexology session, we require a note from your physician clearing you for those services. The note must be dated within 6 months of your visit and can be emailed to us in advance of your arrival to guest@marysplacebythesea.org. Your doctor’s office may also fax the note to us at 732-361-0135 Requesting Your Stay at Mary’s Place by the Sea - Guests can visit Mary’s Place by the Sea for either a Day or Overnight Retreat. - To request your stay at Mary’s Place by the Sea, please complete our Reservation Inquiry form: https://www.marysplacebythesea.org/reservations. - Retreats are scheduled on a first come, first serve basis. No dates are guaranteed.

How long can I stay at Mary’s Place by the Sea?
Guests at Mary’s Place by the Sea are welcome to stay for a day of services or for up to two nights. Breakfast and lunch are provided. There are many local restaurants from which to choose for dinner on your own.
Am I permitted to bring a companion or pet?
Single bedroom accommodations permit one person per room. Therefore, we cannot accommodate companions. Due to the health sensitivities of our guests, pets are not allowed.
What does it cost to stay at Mary’s Place by the Sea?
All accommodations and services are free of charge. If you are inclined, our service practitioners accept tips. Donations to Mary’s Place by the Sea are welcome.
Is transportation provided or parking available?
Transportation is not provided, however, we are easily accessible by bus (Academy Bus Lines) and train (NJ Transit to Bradley Beach or Asbury Park). There are taxis available at each train station. There is on-street parking. During the summer months, parking is a challenge since Ocean Grove is a beach community. If possible, we recommend being dropped off during the summer season.
What should I bring with me for my stay at Mary's Place by the Sea?
Slippers and robe, toiletries, medications (as prescribed by your health care physician; we are not a medical facility and not responsible for dispensing medication). Please refrain from bringing perfume or alcoholic beverages.
